Have finally sat down and watched the final episode Waterloo.

I have absolutely fallen in LOVE with this series.

I recently sent an email to a certain someone trying to explain the absolutely wonderful dynamics that these characters have.

Okay, so for my American friends who have never seen this wonderful show, here's a bit of a run-down.

Now I need fic for this series.  I've read two of the three on AO3, reading the third now (as it said to wait until after you've seen Waterloo).  This can't be all that there is, can it?  PLEASE point me in the direction if you know of any.

Because Thursday, is my Friday.... at least as far as work is concerned.

I haven't figured out just yet if it is because of the colder weather, or something else, but I'm extremely tired in the mornings this week.  Don't want to get out of bed, can't wake UP once I do, and just pretty much don't want to be at the office.

Morrigan seems to have FINALLY come back and the muse is quite happy writing away from under the covers.

So... do I have any volunteers for an Army Wives Season 1ish femslash beta job?  It's had one THOROUGH going through, but I'd like to have a new set of eyes as well as a re-do from the previous beta before I post it.

Today is one of those days, where you know -- right from the get-go -- that a LOT of caffeine will have to be consumed in order for you to survive it.

Beyond that so far the day is going pretty well.  Including a semi-unexpected chat with a good friend across the coast this morning.  Just a quick thing, but it put a smile on my face nonetheless.

Headache from hell seems to be leaving -- which just backs up my weather-related theory -- along with the rain and storms.

But today I would really just prefer staying at home, in bed, with the laptop and TV and a fic or two to finish.

Coffee cup number 3 and counting.....

Waking the Dead/Body Farm

Okay, so I'm done with the first 8 seasons of Waking the Dead -- LOVE IT!!!!!  And I have Season 9 and the six episodes of Body Farm ready to go (and will probably be done with them over the next week(end).

Does anyone know of a place to find good icons for these two shows?

Especially Grace (OMGLOVE!!!!! Grace) and Eve.  Possibly some of the boys and Cat as well, but I'll be happy as anything with Grace and Eve.

Also, is there fic out there for this?  I've found 1, but it's post Waterloo, and I'm waiting till after I've seen the ep to read it.  But there is just SO much fodder with this series for further examination that I refuse to believe that there is no other fic out there.

Attempting to return to the world of netdom....

So one of my New Years Resolutions (aside from losing weight and getting back into writing) is to post and read LJ more. 
 
Things have been hectic here and I just never seem to have time to sit down and write about what's going on.  And lately when I have had the time I never really seem to have the energy to sit down and go over things.
 
I'm going to try and get back to doing that more again this year.  I liked it better when I was posting on here regularly and reading everyone's LJ on a more regular (if not daily) basis.  It was rather depressing yesterday to find out that there were some major things that had gone on in a good friend's life 3 years ago, that I thought had JUST happened.
 
On the writing front.... I have LOADS of WIPs that have fallen to the back burner for one reason or another -- never mind the fact that my original stuff is starting to rot since the muse ran off to Bora Bora.  I intend to kick Morrigan in the mik'ta and start working on several projects.  (This also implies that I might be looking for willing <strikethrough>masochists</strikethrough>volunteers to beta in various fandoms.) 

So, essentially, I'm hoping that this post says...."I'm BAAAAACK!!!!!!!!"

And basically, if I start to vanish again, poke me like crazy.

In the tradition of [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti and the like, [livejournal.com profile] jadestrick and I have started a donation/auction community for the areas affected by the deadly tornadoes that ripped through the southern US last week.

is up and we are in the beginning stages of accepting donations. We will break things down into categories for those people who want to donate fandom or other items for people to bid on.

As of right now I'm figuring we'll posts for various types of fic and artwork as well as original works, crafts, and possibly even some southern flare.

Also, if anyone is willing to help us moderate the group, please let us know!

Pokes head out from under a rock....

Thankfully, not literally.

When you vanish from LJ/interweb for a while... THIS is not the way you want to make your come-back. Thankfully, all is okay in our neck of the woods. Parts of my town were hit by at least 1 possibly 2 of the tornadoes that tore through our area of Alabama but, thankfully, our part of town was virtually unscathed. We have some trees down and some wind damage here. People that we know have lost their homes and had much worse.

Our biggest 'inconvenience' was the lack of power. Thanks to some good support we even managed to save virtually everything that we had stored in our freezer and the power now seems to be back on for good. Considering we were initially told 10-14 days, then it dwindled down to 3-5 days, I think that going for a little more than 24 hours without water is absolutely SUPERB work on the part of all of the people working with Alabama Power.

As I explained to our church priest last night (who is the one currently in possession of our entire freezer inventory) when he asked if there was anything else that he could do for us, considering the fact that saving our perishable items was our only real concern... I think we were pretty damned lucky and that was all we could ask for.

Now I'm just hoping that the rest of the state can bounce back as quickly and the rest of the people can get all of the help that they possibly need.

Thank you to everyone who called/texted/emailed. My cell phone was a godsend during all of this and I don't know what I would have done without it and you.

And simply because it's corny and should be said, though it's never said enough - I love you all.
